The Adoption Process

If you are interested in one of Greyhound Rescue South Yorkshire’s dogs and would like more information on any please contact us by phone or email using he details at the bottom of the page.

All our adoptions are subject to a successful home check where we like to have a chat and meet all the family as well as checking  the security of your garden fence and finding out where our dog will sleep. Any additional questions you have will also be answered very truthfully on the day of the home check.

All our dogs are fully vaccinated, microchipped to Greyhound Rescue South Yorkshire, will have had flea and worm treatments and be neutered before being rehomed. They will also have a dental and/or any other care or treatment as necessary. Our dogs are also rehomed with 4 weeks free Petplan insurance.

We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £140 which goes towards the cost of their neuter and vaccinations etc. Each dog is rehomed with a leather greyhound collar and lead, a muzzle, a house collar, a coat and an ID tag.

We offer full support and advice to anyone adopting a greyhound from us and offer full rescue backup should it be required.  Adopting any dog is a big commitment,  we encourage people to take it very seriously. Although we offer full rescue backup we want our dogs to go to forever homes so the decision to adopt shouldn’t be taken lightly based on this. A dog is a big responsibility and requires lifetime dedication so please don’t adopt unless you are committed. We may arrange to come out to do a post adoption home check and we will be on hand to help with any problems or concerns you may have.

Please Note: Donations to Greyhound Rescue South Yorkshire are non-refundable.
